FAQ/News and Views

What is a professional organiser?

A professional organiser is someone who will help you clear the clutter and help you to get organised in your own home. The end result should be reduced stress levels and a greater enjoyment of your home leaving you more time to do the things you love.

What is clutter and decluttering?

Clutter are things in your home that you do not love, want, need or use. Clutter can take up valuable space, can be a distraction and uses your time and energy.
Decluttering is when you sort through your possessions and decide what you no longer love or need. In most cases these things can go to charity and find a new home.   If your items are of good quality, I can offer to sell them on for you and we can discuss this at the time.  You are then left with the things that make you happy, that you need and because you have less, you can find them easier.

Will you make me throw things out?

If you do have a lot of clutter, in order to be more organised the chances of having to discard some items is very high.
The final decision is yours though.  Only you can decide if you love, need or use something. We support you and help you make the decisions  If you are not prepared to let anything go, you may not get the desired result but we can talk through this.

Do I need to be involved in the Decluttering?

Yes, as you are the one to decide if something stays or goes. This is also your home and we want to make sure all decisions work well with you.

How long will it take?

It really does depend on the area to be sorted, the amount of things you have and how quick your can make decisions. We will work through at a speed comfortable to you but I will encourage a quick pace so we can achieve as much as possible.

How long is each session?

We recommend sessions for four hours. This is long enough to make a real difference and to keep energised.

What is the cost of a session?

The cost is £120 for four hours (slightly more for evening or weekend).
There is additional travel costs which we can discuss at the time of booking if you are 10 miles outside of Milton Keynes. A £50 deposit is required to secure the date and the remaining payment is required at the end of the session.

What do you do with the things I don’t want?

I will bring bin bags/boxes for sorting. I can take away a boot full of things destined for the charity shop. We can do a trip to the local recycling dump if time allows. If you have large amounts of rubbish you may want to hire a skip.  I will also make suggestions if I think things are worth selling (ebay, gumtree, local selling pages, auction houses etc.)

Is the service confidential?

Everything we do is confidential. I always take photographs of the room/area to be cleared beforehand and at the end so you can see how far we have got. I would only do this with your permission and you are totally within your rights for this not to happen.
